Affidavits of execution and file information in the context of estate litigation
Only messages pertaining to affidavits of execution or to request that Melanie provide information as a witness in the context of estate litigation and/or dispute resolution will be returned. Email message will only be monitored once per week. Messages can be sent to mgiroux@girouxlegal.com
Locating original documents (*none are stored with Melanie)
All files are closed, and Melanie is not in possession of any original client documents. If you are trying to locate an original will and/or powers of attorney, they are not in Melanie’s possession. It has never been Melanie’s practice to keep client documents for safekeeping.
Messages pertaining to finding original client documents will not be returned as Melanie cannot offer pertinent information as to those documents.
Revisions to pre-existing documents
As Melanie is on leave, she cannot revise documents that were previously drafted by her. It is not unusual for a will to be revised or amended by a lawyer other than the original drafting lawyer. If you are looking to amend estate documents previously prepared by Melanie R. Giroux, those amendments can be done by another lawyer as is common practice when lawyers retire, change the scope of their legal practice or if they can’t take on new work at a given time.
